  • Hi ha dies en què cal un extra de color per veure-ho tot de rosa... 😥 La Rosa 2017, un vi d’alçada de Sumoll (50%), Parellada i Xarel·lo a 550 metres 😉 En nas, tant el Perfum com aquest, comencen amb notes reductives molt marcades que, quan marxen, deixen pas, en aquest cas, a fruits vermells, flors, fenc... en boca tot és fruita i flors fresques i una amargor agradable que dóna recorregut... un puntet d’acidesa també interesant que fa agafar set i voler-ne més!! 😋 Potser començo a veure el color rosa ja... va, que és divendres, i segurament, res és tan greu!! Salut i molt bona nit de divendresss!!! 😉🍷🎉 - Hay días en los que hace falta un extra de color para verlo todo de rosa... 😥 La Rosa 2017, un vino de altura de Sumoll (50%), Parellada y Xarel·lo a 550 metros 😉 En nariz, tanto El Perfum como éste, comienzan con notas reductivas muy marcadas que, cuando se van, dejan paso, en este caso, a frutos rojos, flores, heno... en boca todo es fruta y flores frescas y una amargura agradable que da recorrido... un puntito de acidez también interesante que da sed y ganas de más!! 😋 Quizás empiezo a ver el color rosa ya... va, que es viernes, y seguramente, nada es tan grave!!   • Ça faisait un moment que je n’avais pas bu de Gevrey-Chambertin, une appellation en Côte de nuits que j’affectionne particulièrement. Cette cuvée Les Jeunes Rois, en 2013 du domaine Duroché m’a apporté beaucoup de plaisir. J’aime la robe des Pinots Noirs dès qu’ils ont quelques années. Là, un joli rubis très profond. Le nez dégage des arômes de griotte, de myrtilles bien mures, d'épices douces, puis après quelques minutes d’aération, des notes animales de musc, de sous-bois. Beaucoup de douceur en bouche. Un pinot noir soyeux, du volume en bouche, des tannins francs mais déjà polissés. Un vin bien équilibré. J’aurais aimé que la finale soit un peu plus persistante, mais l’ensemble m’a vraiment convaincu. C’est très bon, c’est juste dommage que les tarifs aient une fâcheuse tendance à s’envoler. . . . It had been a while since I had not drunk Gevrey-Chambertin, an appellation in the Côte de Nuits that I particularly like. This cuvée Les Jeunes Rois, in 2013 Duroché domain brought me a lot of pleasure. I like the dress of the Pinots Noirs as soon as they are a few years old. There, a pretty deep ruby. The nose gives off aromas of morello cherry, well-ripened blueberries, sweet spices, then after a few minutes of aeration, animal notes of musk, undergrowth. A lot of sweetness in the mouth. A silky pinot noir, volume in the mouth, tannins frank but already polished. A well balanced wine. I wish the final was a bit more persistent, but the whole thing really convinced me. It's very good, it's just a shame that fares have an unfortunate tendency to fly away

  • Le Macioche is a beautiful but small wine estate in the heart of the Montalcino winemaking zone. Of the estate’s six hectares, only three are planted to vineyards producing Brunello di Montalcino with another one hectare devoted to olive groves. Le Macioche derives its name from the Sienese Macioca or Strawberry Tree, which is the primary type of tree found in the woods surrounding the estate. After being purchased and renovated by a young couple in the 1980’s, Cantina Le Macioche became known throughout the area for producing a wine of considerable power, but with significantly more elegance than its immediate neighbors. . Le Macioche sits in the center of the Montalcino appellation, just about 5 minutes due southeast from Montalcino. Nestled in a prestigious neighborhood among such prominent addresses as San Polo and Fattoria dei Barbi, Le Macioche is unique in that its four sections of Brunello vineyard, spread over 7.5 acres, are all exposed to the Southwest. This, along with the elevation of roughly 1,400 feet above sea level, ensures both exceptional ripening and constant ventilation throughout each growing season. Such auspicious conditions have enabled Le Macioche to safely exercise organic farming practices with the 2018 vintage marking the estate’s full organic certification. . The 2004 from Le Macioche is ripe and supple. Aromas of dried berries, plum, and sour cherry mix with hints of oak, sweet spice, and leather. This powerful red wine is held in perfect harmony by an undercurrent of brilliant acidity and a structure of firm yet ripe tannins paired against. A substantial wine without ever feeling heavy. The finish is long, balanced, and complex.

  • Curiosity played a huge role while we were putting our hands on this champagne by @moetchandon 🔸🔸 We never tasted this before and since we read a lot about the Grand Vintage collection it is time for us to taste it. Our curiosity was induced by the name of the maison, obviously, and by the vintage, 2008, which we love. We also thought it would be great to taste it as we are used to smaller producer and tasting a bottle from such a big name should help us getting back on (the big) track. So, before opening it what are your opinions on the Grand Vintage? Have you ever tasted it?   • Start exploring light and juicy reds with this Ontario Gamay⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 🍷2017 Malivoire Gamay⁣ 💵$17.95⁣ 🏢LCBO #: 591313⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ In the last couple of years we have started seeking out lighter reds that deliver luscious fruit without the jamminess commonly found in other wines. Gamay is a great starting point if you are looking to explore this area, and the 2017 Malivoire Gamay is a prime example from right here in Ontario. ⁣ ⁣ Gamay is low-maintenance grape commonly grown in France in the Loire and Beaujolais regions, but it is also very prevalent in the Niagara region. In fact, the grape first started being planted in Ontario in the 1970’s, but Malivoire has only been growing it since 1998. A lot of local producers use the grape to make Rose, but a couple are letting the grape stand on its own.⁣ ⁣ Malivoire’s winemaker Shiraz Mottiar, used grapes from the Beamsville Bench and Vinemount Ridge sites in Niagara for this Gamay. 65% of the wine was aged in neutral oak barrels, and 35% in stainless steel. After 6 months the two were blended and bottled; and here we are only 5 months later. The wine is juicy, bright, and a little tart. It has a really nice sour cherry or raspberry taste, and a light touch of cinnamon.
